“The three boxes in my logo represent Artwork, Photography, and Sculpture. It is open at the bottom to welcome you into my art world for you to experience my creations.”

Mark Buck’s artwork can be found in private collections in Canada, Israel, Germany and The United States of America.

Mark’s earlier acrylic paintings explore the Bauhaus Colour and Shape Theories that he learned at Pratt Institute in New York. The primary colours of Blue, Red and Yellow are featured within the shapes of the Circle, Square or Triangle. As a high school art teacher, he taught the Bauhaus theories to his students. Mark’s acrylic paintings explore Kinetic, Pop Art, and Abstract Expressionism.

Mark's distinctive abstract and geometric acrylic paintings are called “Mondragams” – a combination of De Stijl artist Piet Mondrian’s colour style and Yaacov Agam’s kinetic design. Mark’s Mondragam Paintings colours move as you change your direction.

These one-of-a-kind mono prints fall under serigraphs/silkscreens or mixed media. This category also combines acrylic paintings with markers, ink, chalk origami, or collage done on paper.

Mark has a collection of over 18,500 images in his photo library. The photos represented here are a sampling from his favourite subjects of chachkes, mannequins, places, say-say-say, and Santa Fe. The snapshots are photos where he happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Mark’s wood sculptures are not for sale. The pyramid colour study sculptures and inukshuk are available for purchase. They are open edition. A certificate of authenticity will be provided with purchase.
